Government open data

Facilities, seasons, directions of travel and other details come from the government datasets listed above, used under their open licences. We have combined these datasets with OpenStreetMap, matched records to locations, and reworded and reformatted the information. The publishers do not endorse this site, and any errors introduced in the process are ours. The attribution each publisher asks for is reproduced below.

  • Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Rest Area (British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Transit, Open Government Licence – British Columbia): Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia.
  • Parc routier (Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec, CC BY 4.0): Contient des données du ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec, sous licence CC BY 4.0.

Other provinces and territories do not publish their rest areas as open data yet, so stops there come from OpenStreetMap only.
